The Educational Offering Plan of Ravenna Municipality has been presented today at Teatro Rasi. Teachers and professors of schools of all types and levels were able to find out all cultural proposals being part of P.O.F. The city mayor was present, Michele de Pascale, along with councillor to Public Education Ouidad Bakkali and Ravenna’s MIUR executive Agostina Melucci. On this occasion all the city’s school institutes discovered Visioni Fantastiche’s program, the new film festival for schools taking place in Ravenna from 21st to 29th October 2019 at Palazzo dei Congressi. Presenting Visioni Fantastiche Maria Martinelli, head of communications, and Paola Di Natale, organisational secretary workshops and masterclasses. The Festival educational offering is explicitly addressed to schools of all types and levels, that can participate freely in Visioni Fantastiche. In particular, the students can be part of the Juries of the International Competition, being spectators and jurors at the same time; they can also participate in practical cinema workshops as well as in the masterclasses, frontal lessons open to all held by industry experts, whose themes will vary from insights on fantastic cinema to seriality and new media.
But Visioni Fantastiche is not intended only for schools! The Festival program is infact way richer allowing all moviegoers to take part, thanks to a dense calendar of free screenings, meetings and events open to all!
During the Festival nights a series of Fantastic Premieres will be proposed, consisting in first previews of films coming from prestigious film festivals and most exclusive film distributors. Section Special Selection will be proposing a selection of the best short films presented at Kurtzfilmtage Oberhausen, the historical film festival where Herzog, Wenders, Reitz and Fassbinder signed the new German cinema manifesto in 1962. Tribute to the Masters is a section dedicated to great masterpieces of the history of cinema, that this year will be exploring Hayao Miyazaki cinematography presenting some of his most significant animation works. At Palazzo dei Congressi there will be also permanent workshops, that we called Interactive Space, accessible during all the Festival days. First one is “From LEGOs to Cinema”, namely a workshop where participants will use LEGOs to realise scenes to be inserted or modified within the film narration, whereas the lab on Virtual Reality conducted by the experts of 3D Lab Factory will give students the unique opportunity to live an exclusive virtual reality experience. All these events are enriched by encounters with film authors and directors, as well as with notorious personalities of the cinema world. Last but not least, Showcase Emilia-Romagna is going to propose a unique selection of short films produced in the region. Launched in 2018 from Ravenna Nightmare Film Fest, the section is extending its proposal also within Visioni Fantastiche with some of the best cinematographic productions supported by Emilia-Romagna Film Commission.
